On the occasion to mark the 10th anniversary of the JS Bank, Ali Jahangir Siddiqui – chairman – in an exclusive and rare streaming session from Jahangir Siddiqui Auditorium at the IBA City Campus, talked about various facets of JS brand evolution and JS bank progress over the years. In this video he talks about the thought process behind introduction of various JS Bank’s business products for SMEs and the micro-entrepreneur.
Ali Jahangir Siddiqui shared that JS Bank has traditionally focused on SME’s to provide more value and a better set of services to this sector compared to other banks. Customer concern has generally been that they are charged a large amount of fees by banks be it transferring money across the country or for pay-orders. Some banks were charging lesser or no fees provided the customer maintained a big deposit. JS Bank capitalized on this opportunity, and offered not to charge fees to all the small businesses and hence JS Bank was able to strategically grow its network around the small businesses delivering value and being a partner in their business.
Ali Jahangir Siddiqui also spoke about JS Bank’s partnership with Careem, Prime Minister’s Youth Business Loan Scheme and MJSF, which has allowed the bank to develop a concept of being the digital banking service provider for micro entrepreneurs. The scheme not only provides an interest fee and subsidized loan but also empowers the small entrepreneur to start and run their business with ease.
