December 12th , 2019: JS Bank has partnered with World Wind Energy Association – Pakistan (WWEA) under the State Bank of Pakistan’s (SBP) renewable energy scheme to improve access to clean energy generation for commercial and residential customers. Based on SBP’s scheme, financing for generation of clean energy is offered at a subsidized mark-up rate of 6% per annum. Commenting on the occasion, Syed Tauqir Haider Rizvi, Business Head – CRBG North, JS Bank said, “Such collaborations have the potential to solve the question of increasing energy requirements while preserving the environment. Our alliance with WWEA reflects our commitment towards promotion renewable energy through provision of easy, simple and convenient financing options.” Air Marshal Shahid Hamid (Retd.), President of WWEA Pakistan, commented positively regarding the prospects of the alliance, “This partnership is an important milestone for the promotion and uptake of renewable energy in line with the government of Pakistan’s objective to achieve 30% renewable energy by 2030.
